2022 Richard B. Schultz Best Transaction Paper Award

On 10 May, the paper Susceptibility of Static Energy Meters due to Amplifier Clipping Caused by a Rogowski Coil, by Tom Hartman; Bas ten Have; Johan Dijkstra; Roelof Grootjans; Niek Moonen; Frank Leferink was named the winner of the 2022 Richard B. Schultz Best Transaction Paper Award of IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility.

In this journal paper they presented the underlying reason for the static energy meter errors previously reported. These errors cause overestimations of the energy bill or even perceived power generation while no power generating equipment such as solar panels, windmills or any other are present.

This annual award is to recognise the outstanding paper published in the IEEE T-EMC. This paper is selected from 243 papers published in 2022 IEEE T-EMC through a rigorous review and consideration of the editorial board. The award is traditionally presented at the annual IEEE EMC+SIPI Symposium (at Grand Rapids this year) during the Awards Luncheon.
