We are proud to announce that our colleague Dr. ir. Raffaele Sommese, assistant professor within the DACS group at the University of Twente, has been appointed as a member of the .eu Multistakeholder Advisory Group (.eu MAG). He will serve as the University of Twente’s official representative at this EU panel.

The .eu MAG provides strategic advice and guidance to the Commission on the governance, security, and future direction of the .eu top-level domain, ensuring it remains aligned with Europe’s digital values and policy goals. Raffaele selection follows a public call for experts by the Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CNECT) of the European Commission.
He will contribute his knowledge in DNS infrastructure resilience, internet governance, and abuse prevention. His appointment underscores the active role of DACS and the University of Twente in shaping the resilience and trustworthiness of European Internet infrastructure.
