It saddens us to report that our valued colleague Frans de Groot suddenly has passed away last Friday. Frans was 54 years old. He worked at the University of Twente for more than 16 years as a theatre technician at the Vrijhof.
In those sixteen years, he made many cultural performances and activities by associations and professionals possible. CFM colleagues, other UT-colleagues and fellow students will really miss his enthusiasm and commitment to UT.
A memorial corner will be set up in the Vrijhof, across from Frans' room, where a book of condolence will be available for colleagues and students during this Monday.
Next Friday, on the day of the funeral, the flag at UT will be at half-mast.
We wish his children and family all the best at this time of great loss.
