The University Council has yet to approve the University of Twente's budget for 2025. On Wednesday, the budget was discussed at the last meeting of this calendar year.
During the meeting, the University Council expressed concerns about the budget's feasibility and asked the Executive Board (EB) for more insight into how the set targets can be achieved and what measures will be taken to manage risks.
The EB said it understood the University Council's concerns. In the coming year, the budget deficit must be further reduced. This is a big challenge, as realising new savings demands more from all of us than before.
The budget discussion will continue in January, with the Executive Board providing further substantiation to the UC's questions.
