On Wednesday 2 October, UT’s annual Scholarship Ceremony was held at the TechMed Centre for 34 international master’s students who have received a scholarship funded by UT.
The presentation was opened by the Master of Ceremonies, Prof. Dr. Jennifer Herek, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology (TNW). She explained her connection to the event as a scholarship recipient herself and described the value of such a unique opportunity: “I am eternally grateful for the trust that was put in me in being selected for a scholarship, as well as the expectations set on me to work hard, do well, graduate in time, and ultimately to take on the responsibility given to me to represent and make the most of the university education that I received.”
The opening was followed by welcoming words from Drs. Machteld Roos, Vice-President of the Executive Board. Then Mrs. Trúc Trần Thanh, a UT alumnus in Business Administration, gave a warm and inspiring presentation about her journey from Vietnam to the Netherlands, and her experiences at UT and in the job market. She also shared her tips on the best ways to find work in the Netherlands after graduating, such as attending the Business Days Twente.
During the ceremony, the UT scholarship recipients were presented with a scholarship certificate by the Deans of the Faculties of BMS, EEMCS, ET and TNW. UT is proud to welcome these talented students and congratulates them on their achievements. UT also expresses the wish for a fruitful collaboration now and in the future!
