On Wednesday 4 October, the Scholarship Ceremony was held at the Grolsch Veste for 45 international Master’s and Bachelor’s students who have received a scholarship funded by UT.

The ceremony was kicked off by the Master of Ceremonies, Prof. Dr. Jennifer Herek, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology (S&T). She explained her own connection to this evening has been as a scholarship recipient herself and described the value of such a unique opportunity: “I am eternally grateful for the trust that was put in me in being selected for a scholarship, as well as the expectations set on me to work hard, do well, graduate in time, and ultimately to take on the responsibility given to me to represent and make the most of the university education that I received.”

Her opening was followed by welcoming words from Drs. Machteld Roos, Vice-President of the Executive Board since 1 September 2021. Mrs. Truc Tran, a UT alumnus in Business Administration, gave a presentation on her journey from Vietnam to the Netherlands and on her experiences at UT and in the job market. She also shared tips on the best way to find work in the Netherlands after graduating, such as learning the Dutch language, attending the Business Days Twente, or doing an internship.

Scholarship certificates

During the ceremony, the UT scholarship recipients were invited on stage and were presented with an official scholarship certificate by the Deans or representatives of the Faculties of BMS, ET, EEMCS, S&T and ATLAS. UT is proud to welcome these talented students and congratulates them on their achievements. UT also expresses the wish for a fruitful collaboration now and in the future!
