Watch: lunch lecture on energy crisis for students

The energy crisis in Europe affects everyone, including students. Specifically, their energy bills could be around €1000 per person higher next year. 'If you are a student, the crisis is going to impact you much faster than you might think' says UT researcher Nando Tolboom. That is why he organised an information and support lecture especially for students on 13 September.

In the lecture, he explained what is going on and what measures you, as a student, can take yourself to keep your energy bill under control. The lecture was supported by housing organisations De Veste and SJHT, the energy desk (Energieloket) of the municipality of Enschede and UT's Green Hub Twente.

Act now

'Acting now, while the leaves are falling, will not only help you this winter, but also the winters after,' Tolboom says. 'The challenge is understanding your consumption and making behavioural changes. This involves not only yourself, but also housemates and neighbours. Together you can amplify the impact.'
