RESULT
In this advanced beginners course participants extend their basic knowledge of Dutch (reaching CEF-level A2). Participants receive a certificate of attendance after completion.
CONTENT
The course consists of group tuition. It covers reading, listening, writing and speaking. Participants will also learn more about Dutch culture and society and an excursion to the Rijksmuseum Twenthe.
Translated in terms of the Common European Framework for modern foreign languages (CEF), this means that at the end of this course, participants:
- understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment),
- communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters,
- describe in simple terms aspects of your background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
You will be evaluated based on a portfolio, which you have to complete by the end of the course. The portfolio consists of listening and reading tests, writing assignments, a practical speaking exercise outside of class and a spoken exam in the final lesson. If the result is satisfactory, you will be able to enrol in the A2/B1 course.
