RESULT
Persuasion is ever-present: whenever we involve someone else in our own needs, targets and wishes. However, we notice persuasiveness most when it is unsuccessful.
The good news is that persuasiveness is a communication skill that can be refined with conscious practice!
Over three evenings and through homework, we piece together the following key points:
• approaching negotiations thoughtfully and empathetically;
• reducing overthinking;
• recognising the attitudes and styles active during negotiations;
• adjusting our preferred styles of communication to suit that of others;
• noticing which situations tend to stimulate persuasion naturally.
We trust that this course will be a lasting aid in your life as a student, a citizen and professional.
