Please ask your home university whether they have an agreement with the University of Twente.

RESULT: English Language Proficiency Statement

As part of our agreement with your home university, it has been confirmed that you meet the University of Twente’s English language proficiency requirements. Therefore, you may submit an English Language Proficiency Statement, completed and signed by your home university, before the application deadline.

RESULT: Exemption form given by The Research Group 

Your research group can make a decision whether you posses a sufficient command of English. If this applies to you, you are exempted from providing an English language certificate. Please make sure that the exemption form is stamped and signed by your supervisor.

If this is not the case, you will need to take an English language proficiency test. See our English language requirements.

The duration stay should include the travel days.

Upload your bachelor’s or master's diploma/diploma supplement from a Dutch accredited academic institution. Make sure your programme is accredited via the NVAO register.

Result: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States of America - You are exempt

You are exempt. Please upload the document explaining your programme, the duration, and the type of the programme (on campus or online). 

Canadian degrees need at least 50% English instruction.

Result - English test required 

You will need to take an English language proficiency test. See our English language requirements.

Result - You are exempt

You are exempt. Upload your official transcript of records. Please note that the language of instruction must be stated in your diploma, transcript or records or diploma supplement. 

Australia, Canada (English-speaking part), Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, United States of America, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Austria, Romania, Slovakia, or Sweden.

Result - Country List - You might be exempt

You might be exempt if you had English as an exam subject during your secondary education. Please check all specific requirements on the country list. Upload a scan of your secondary school diploma and transcript of records in the original language and officially translated in English or Dutch.
