University Committee for Education is looking for a new student member

Are you available to critically contribute to discussions regarding educational themes of our University? Being a student member of the University Committee for Education you will have the opportunity to think along in an early stage about policy in education in a content wise and strategic manner.

Members of the committee are the Rector (Chair), the portfolio holders education of each UT Faculty Board, as well as two students. The meetings are always attended and supported by the registrar and the Secretary (policy advisor education Strategy and Policy) of the committee.

Who could be a student member?

The function of the student members in the UC-Ow is to express the view of the student in the discussions of the educational themes and to contribute critically in the discussions as a stakeholder on behalf of the UT student. Students who have been active in either Faculty or University Council, a Programme Committee(s) or who are active in student committees/unions, are encouraged to react. Your experience in discussions on quality of education and your student network will turn out to be very helpful for you regarding this student-membership. Because of the advisory capacity of the UC-Ow, present student members of the UT-Faculty and University Council(s) are not allowed to be a member of the committee.

Investment of time and compensation

The frequency of UC-Ow meetings is approximately once every three weeks. The meeting is scheduled on Tuesday mornings and lasts two hours. The membership of the UC-Ow is not compensated.

Value of the membership

Being a member of the UC-Ow will enable you, in a rather early stage, to constructively think along in a content wise and strategical manner on policy of education. You will learn how decisive trajectories at the University are set up, and you will see which aspects are part of decision making at the University of Twente.

Procedure to become a student member of the UC-Ow

If you wish to apply to become a member of the UC-Ow, you have to address the University Council. The University Council will nominate a candidate to the Executive Board of the University, which will appoint the student member. Process:
