Your gathering at DesignLab

Dear collaborator,
to prepare for your gathering in designlab, we want to inform you on:

1. catering

Food and drinks are a great way to engage, connect and relate to people in a different way. Maybe even connect to those you have never met before. Would you like to have catering during your event? Please click here, and The Gallery Catering will get back to you.

All food and drinks should be enjoyed in our LOUNGE /Kitchen area to ensure we are creating a connection to other people that are in DesignLab (that is how we make an ecosystem). See if you can recognise this spot. That's where you can find your food!

We also ask that when ordering food that you select a vegetarian option, in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint. After your event, all leftovers from catering will be given away to students, researchers and companies working in DesignLab (not drinks if you have to pay per bottle!) Please inform the DreamTeamer on shift when you are finished. They will place it in KITCHEN so we can share.

2. SETUPS & Help

OUR SPACES are designed to trigger innovative thinking, stimulate collaboration for societal challenges and facilitate those wishing to prototype their ideas. See how you can utilise our multi-purpose rooms for education, research, (business) projects, and the ever-so-necessary ways to embrace multiple perspectives.

We invite you to think about how our creative space can enable you to reach the goals of your gathering. How might the space activate these goals? What does the way that people sit keep them engaged? Please be inspired by the set-ups through our video below. We ask you to come in early to set this up, or use it as a team building at the beginning of your gathering.

DreamTeam (person in a green shirt!) is available for any questions on the day of your event, you can always find them at the DreamTeam desk. TechTeam may be contacted regarding the technical equipment, sound system and prototyping.

  • How to find us?

Due to construction at the Gallery starting April 2023, there are some changes in how you may access DesignLab. You can see the overview of how to access DesignLab in the table below:

    8:30 - 17:00

You can access DesignLab from the Gallery side (both O&O Square and Hengelosestraat) and the entrance from Pinetumweg (Horst side)

    17:00 - closing time

You can access DesignLab only from the entrance of Pinetumweg. You will need to ring the bell to enter.

Due to construction, the accessibility is ever-changing. Please reach out to us if you have a need to use an elevator to access DesignLab.

BY BIKE: You can park the bike at all of the entrances of DesignLab.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT: Plan your route to bus station Westerbegraafplaats/UT. Use 9292OV for arrival and departure times.

BY CAR: We recommend you use Drienerlolaan 5, Enschede as your navigation address. From there, follow the P4. Most parking spots are available there. The recommended route is marked on the map. From the parking spot, walk towards the entrance of DesignLab.
