DesignLab has a vast network of Research Fellows spread over the various faculties of the University of Twente.
Currently, more than 60 researchers are associated with a DesignLab Research Fellowship. They share DesignLab’s vision to co-shape the future we want to live in, and contribute to that from their own discipline. Together, the DesignLab Research Fellows work towards exploring, understanding or solving societal challenges - often within the context of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Where possible we do so in a transdisciplinary way: collaborative and together with stakeholders.
The Research Fellows are DesignLab’s ambassadors and part of our ‘family’. They use DesignLab’s ecosystem for teaching, researching and innovating themselves, and can contribute to other’s activities, requests or research projects. One of their benefits is the DesignLab Research Fellows Seed Fund.
The Seed fund was established in 2021 with an aim of supporting DesignLab Research Fellows in the development of new research ideas and initiatives. Projects that come into consideration encompass all kind of ideas and initiatives that have a link with the Responsible Futuring approach of DesignLab and its areas of expertise; Citizen Science and Transdisciplinary innovation, to create societal impact.
