Background & Description
Overconsumption, from plastic waste and fast fashion to the overuse of digital technologies, is a global challenge that requires systemic, collaborative solutions. CurioCities: Futures Unlocked invites international bachelor’s students from all disciplines and universities to join a unique four-day journey through the Twente region, 23–26 June 2025. Participants explore the theme of a thriving circular society through workshops, cultural experiences, and networking activities, all grounded in Twente’s 700-year heritage and forward-looking innovation culture. The programme combines immersive learning with fun, integrating technology, design, and societal perspectives. Students work alongside local guides and experts, using collective imagination exercises to envision alternative futures, while also engaging in hands-on activities in Enschede’s city centre, UT campus, and surrounding communities. CurioCities promotes multidisciplinary connections, practical problem-solving skills, and personal growth, all while showcasing Twente as a hub for sustainability and creativity.
