Joint OSCT-DCC event: Recognition & Rewards 30 March 2023

Together with the Open Science Community Twente (OSCT) we invite you to our second joint OSCT-DCC event on "Recognition & Rewards". Here, guest speaker Sander Bosch, Open Science coordinator at the VU Amsterdam, will reflect on how Open Science and Recognition & Rewards relate to each other in the context of a university, drawing from his experiences at the Vrije Universiteit and national Open Science programmes and Recognition & Rewards initiatives.

"There is a lot of momentum for both a more transparent and inclusive way of working in academia through Open Science and a more fairly balanced system of Recognition & Rewards that does justice to the multitude of roles and tasks in academia." Says Sander Bosch!

About our guest speaker:

Dr. Sander Bosch is the Open Science Coordinator at the VU Amsterdam. In this role, he connects existing initiatives on Open Science and initiates and manages projects that work towards necessary Infrastructure, Support & Training, Community Engagement, Recognition & Rewards and Policy for Open Science. He is also part of the VU Recognition & Rewards team, that aims to make the core tasks at the university (education, research, impact) more fairly and evenly appreciated. In 2022, Sander was the (part-time) Portfolio Manager at the Dutch National Programme Open Science (NPOS). In this role, he was responsible for the creation of a Multi-Annual Plan (NPOS2030), which contains the vision, shared ambitions and key objectives of a broad consortium of Dutch Open Science stakeholders. Sander has a background in computational neuroscience and obtained his PhD at the Donders Institute in Nijmegen in 2016.
