The hardware of the High Quality storage service will be replaced in the next 3 weeks. This requires transferring your data from the current storage hardware to the new storage hardware. This activity will be carried out after work hours. In addition to the renewal of the hardware the new storage offers improvements to increase the security of your data.
How does this activity affect me?
During the transfer of data from the current to the new storage hardware, access to the storage via and the U: P: and M: drives or via \\ ad.utwente.nl \ <folder name> \ etc. will not be available for approx. 4 hours.
The grouping and timing of data transfer is shown in the following paragraph.
Planning: between 7 pm - 11 pm:
- 17-3-2021: LISA
- 22-3-2021: BMS
- 25-3-2021: M-drives, ICT, dump
- 29-3-2021: Applied Sciences, Mesa Service departments
- 01-4-2021: ET, EEMCS, ITC, UT projects
For the groups not mentioned, the data transfer will take place on 01-04-2021.
Please note:
During data transfer, all connections to the named data storage will be disconnected.
For those who access file shares using a direct path instead of a DFS paths (DFS paths are recommended) please contact the ICT Service Desk for more information regarding new fixed path names.
