A new version of the UT privacy policy was adopted by the Executive Board on 14 October 2019, after approval by the University Council.
These are the most important changes:
- The handling of data breaches and the rights of data subjects are discussed in more detail;
- The policy is now entirely based on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) instead of the Dutch Personal Data Protection Act (Wet bescherming peroonsgegevens or Wbp);
- The earlier appendix "Privacy rules", a practical translation of the privacy policy for different subareas is no longer part of the privacy policy, but is managed as a working document;
- It is explicitly stated that a student's UT supervisor is responsible for the processing of personal data in student research.
