The international symposium "Change the Climate – Change the Dialogue" held on 25 October 2024 at the University of Twente, brought together media professionals, scientists, communication specialists, engineers, social scientists, students, policymakers, artists and industry representatives to explore holistic geo-techno-social approaches for climate solutions. Through knowledge sharing and innovative communication strategies, the event fostered collaboration across disciplines and sectors.
A total of 70 participants from 18 countries joined the hybrid event, which featured two keynote presentations, a panel discussion and two interactive mini-workshops. The symposium not only cultivated new cross-sector partnerships but also provided a platform to examine effective communication and engagement practices to address climate challenges and drive the energy transition.
The symposium fostered engagement of a diverse group from different disciplines to address climate challenges; established new connections and partnerships for future climate-related projects; enhanced understanding of interdisciplinary collaboration methods and led to development of actionable strategies for effective science communication and stakeholder engagement.
