Would you like to make an impact on society with your research? Do you want to be able to explain your work to people outside your research field? Or do you want to involve society in your research?
Then good Science Communication is more important than ever! Communicating science engagingly and accurately to the wider public has become indispensable in times of fake news, conspiracy theories, and distrust.
Registration open for wider research audience
We have this Communication Science workshop event organized for BMS PhDs, but as the topic may be of interest for postdocs or other junior researchers as well we make registration possible for a wider research audience.
The BMS PhDs for PhDs will organize an interactive workshop given by Lize Cornet, in which we will discuss the different aspects of Science Communication. Why should you invest in Science Communication? How should you pitch your research? What about (video) blogging?
Workshop by Liza Cornet
Liza Cornet, PhD will lead the workshop in bridging the gap between science and real people, and will share her own experiences. From 2018 to 2019, she was a postdoctoral researcher at BMS. After working as a scientist for more than 10 years, she decided to quit her job as a researcher and start her own business in Science Communication in 2021. Liza’s successful career has seen her win a number of science communication prizes. More about Liza
We look forward to meeting you in person on the 24th of May!
