Each year the students in the MSc PSTS program in coordination with the Study Association Ideefiks organize a study trip. This year's destination was Berlin. And this year's study advisor was KiTeS associate professor Sandra Calkins.
Leon van der Neut, Ideefiks Chairman writes of the experience:
"What a week it was! We look back at a week of interesting lectures, discussions and site visits. Tactical tech blew us away with their work, philosophy, and hospitality, Prof. Dineen and Prof Reinhardt at Humboldt universität lead a fascinating discussion on information sciences and normativity, and Robert Desjarlais made a Walter Benjamin walking tour for us.
"Alongside that, each of us had the opportunity to fill in the Berlin trip as we wished. Many of us visited sites like the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, the grave of Hegel and Marcuse, the plenty of bookstores that Berlin is rich, and the foodhall down the street from the hostel. I also heard through the grapevine that a large part of the group made good use of the Berlin techno-scene on Friday.
"We thank all those who hosted us, all participants, and especially the study trip committee and Sandra Calkins! The Twente University Fund helped making this trip possible."
