The dissertation of Petra Hoffmann, who has been oriented by Holger Schiele and Koos Krabbendam (OOHR), has been nominated as one of the three finalists for the prestigious BME dissertation award.
BME – the German association for materials management, purchasing and logistics with more than 8.000 members - issues a science award each year for qualitatively outstanding dissertations and habilitations in purchasing and supply chain management. Petra’s dissertation -finalized by the end of 2011- was assessed on innovativeness, theoretical foundation and practical relevance.
With her research, she was able to explain more than 50 % of companies’ supply risk management success by developing a supply risk management system that encompasses the most important risk sources, indicators needed for monitoring these risks and mitigation strategies for managing these risks.
As one of the three finalists, Petra has to present her research in front of the jury in Würzburg in March 2012. More information on the BME dissertation award can be found here.
