Sylvia Butzke appointed as member of the Supervisory Board of the University of Twente

As of 1 November 2020, Sylvia Butzke is appointed as a member of the Supervisory Board of the University of Twente, by the Minister of Education, Culture and Science. Her appointment will be for a term of four years. Sylvia Butzke will succeed Clémence van Ross – van Dorp, whose appointment will end.

Sylvia Butzke has been nominated by the University Council of the UT. With her profile, she ensures a complete and balanced Supervisory Board, according to the University Council. She also meets the required characteristics for this position within the Board, such as having knowledge of public administration, a good national network and demonstrable social interests.

Butzke, who is originally from Germany, currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer at PGGM Investments. Before that, she was Division Director at DNB (De Nederlandsche Bank) until 2016, first at the Finance and ICT division and later at the Statistics and Information division. She studied Applied Physics in Berlin and Delft and got her MBA at Kellogg.
