On March 23, UT researchers celebrated the opening of their research centre on procurement, called the 'European Laboratory for Innovative Purchasing and Supply' (EL-IPS), and the inaugural lecture by Prof. Dr. Louise Knight. Both events focused on the future of purchasing. In the inaugural lecture, Louise argues that public procurement can and should 'shape' and co-create markets towards a more sustainable one. According to her, this can be done through "business-not-as-usual", with responsible and innovation-oriented purchasing.
