Annual campaign

Electric Superbike Twente is a team of 14 motivated students from different fields of study. We want to show the world that motorcycle racing with an electric superbike is possible and has the future. That is why we design and build our own Electric Superbike. Our goal is not only winning races, but also implementing and testing as many innovations as possible to make motorsport more sustainable.

Together with my research group, I am developing an artificial placenta that can support babies in their development and their health, immediately after their (premature) birth. Our technology combines lung and kidney support for (sick) newborns using the umbilical cord and the baby's own blood circulation.

In September, thanks to the Kipaji Scholarship, I started my master's degree in Business & IT at the University of Twente. I am from Gaza and my dream, as a future IT system architect, is to improve the information systems of humanitarian organizations in Gaza, but also beyond, so that action can be taken much more effectively in times of emergency.

In 1964, together with about 200 other students, I started as the first group at the Technical University of Twente. The wish of the founders of the THT was to better prepare students for social life. Strangely enough, we were housed and trained at the same time on a campus far from the city. It is now almost 60 years later and together with about twenty students from the first group I have been interviewed about my experiences as a student at the THT at the time.
