The master's programmes of the Faculty of Science and Technology (S&T) at the University of Twente are doing exceptionally well in the Keuzegids Masters 2025. No fewer than four S&T master's programmes have been named the best in the Netherlands within their fields.
Highlights in the ‘Keuzegids’
- Applied Physics achieves a perfect 5.0 - the highest score of all (technical) physics and astronomy master's programmes in the Netherlands.
- Chemical Science & Engineering scores 4.8, also the highest national rating in this field.
- Technical Medicine gets a strong 4.4, making it the best in the Netherlands within this unique discipline.
- Biomedical Engineering is also named the best in the Netherlands in its category, scoring 4.2.
The other S&T programmes, such as Nanotechnology and Health Sciences, also score well and are rated positively by students. All programmes thus contribute to the faculty's strong educational profile.

What is the ‘Keuzegids Masters’
Every year, the Keuzegids Masters lists all master's programmes in the Netherlands, at both the HBO and WO level. It helps students find and compare master's programmes. For each master's programme, student judgements are presented on five themes: content, teachers, assessment, career preparation and atmosphere. All judgements are based on absolute scores from the Nationale Student Survey (NSE). The Keuzegids process these into relative scores to show how programmes perform compared to the national average.
