The CLEAR project’s recent success didn’t just stay within the university walls, and it was celebrated in a special (and delicious) way.
Earlier this week, on 1 July, the CLEAR project team from the Faculty of Science & Technology (TNW) won first prize in the Dutch Higher Education Award 2025, a wonderful recognition for innovative and interdisciplinary education.
This achievement did not go unnoticed: on Thursday, the mayor of Enschede, Roelof Bleker, surprised the University of Twente by sending a festive cake to the Executive Board. On behalf of the Board, Machteld Roos then invited the CLEAR team to the Board’s wing to cut the cake and celebrate this success together.

Congratulations once again to the CLEAR team for this prestigious award – and for inspiring educational innovation within and beyond our university!
