Dr. Pavlina Nanou wins the Prins Friso Award!

DR. IR. PAVLINA NANOU HAS BEEN CHOSEN BY THE PROFESSIONAL JURY AS THE WINNER OF THE PRINs FRISO ENGINEER PRIZE 2024.

She may call herself Engineer of the Year for one year. Dr Pavlina Nanou finished her MSc in Chemical Engineering at S&T Faculty at the University of Twente in 2007. She is one of the founders of TNO spinoff TORWASH, which has developed an innovative process to extract sustainable chemicals, fuels and even fertilisers from sewage sludge.

The Prins Friso Ingenieursprijs is awarded annually by the Royal Institute of Engineers (KIVI) to an engineer who stands out in expertise, innovative capacity, social impact, and entrepreneurship. The prize bears the name of Prince Friso, the deceased brother of King Willem-Alexander. Prince Friso was a mechanical and aerospace engineer and a highly respected member of KIVI.
