MCS publishes new paper on diffusive bubble growth in Langmuir

A new paper from a collaboration between MCS, PoF (Physics of Fluids, University of Twente) and FMG (Fluid Mechanics Group from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid) can be found online in Langmuir.

The paper describes diffusion-driven growth dynamics of successive H2 bubbles formed at a silicon substrate. Furthermore, the measured gas depletion effects from various origins, and their influences on the growth of bubbles have been discussed with the support of numerical simulations. Additionally, a comparison between the dimensionless bubble growth coefficients of H2 bubbles with those of CO2 bubbles formed on similar surfaces in the presence of a supersaturated solution of carbonated water, has been made.

The full paper entitled "Electrolysis-driven and pressure-controlled diffusive growth of successive bubbles on micro-structured surfaces" can be found at this DOI: 10.1021/acs.langmuir.7b02978
