Seminar on the latest developments on superconductors and magnet technology, September 28 2018

On Friday September 28, Tim Mulder will give his PhD presentation starting at 12:30, followed by his defense starting at 12:45. Preceding this event, we will organize a special colloquium where two external members of his PhD Graduation Committee will give 30 minute presentations presenting highlights of their research and developments.

The Colloquium will take place on September 28 from 11:00 to 12:00 and is in room RA2503.

The program is as follows:

(1) 11:00-11:30 - “Development of Roeble Cable type Superconductors at KIT for high-field accelerator type magnets” by Dr. Anna Kario (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Karlsruhe, Germany).

(2) 11:30-12:00 - “CORC Cables and Wires and their Application” by Dr. Danko van der Laan (Company ACT and University of Colorado, Boulder, USA).

Later that same afternoon Tim Mulder will defend his PhD thesis “Advancing ReBCO-CORC Wire and Cable-In-Conduit Conductor Technology for Superconducting Magnets” at 12:30 in the Prof. Dr. G. Berkhoff room in building Waaier.

We kindly invite you to attend this seminar.
