May 17th, 2013 - Michelle Heijblom was invited to Geneva, to share her ideas and experiences of breast imaging using Photoacoustics, at a prestigious TEDx event organized by Procter and Gamble (P&G). The event was held in the P&G center on the 13th of March 2013, with the theme ‘The Power of Trust’. Michelle spoke of the unreliability and uncertainty associated with breast cancer diagnosis using imaging, but also the emotions suffered by patients who are confronted with the disease. Michelle is involved along with her colleagues in the in the early stages of proving the clinical feasibility of the novel technique of photoacoustic imaging. She presented the technique, which has the potential to increase the reliability of diagnosis. She then spoke of her experience of imaging on patient-volunteers, and shared her enthusiasm for the future with the large and select audience comprising members of Procter and Gamble.
