May 17th, 2013 - Michelle Heijblom, has won the 1st prize in the Best Student Oral Presentation competition of the biannual conference European Conferences on Biomedical Optics (ECBO) held at Messe Munchen, Munich, between 12 - 16 May 2013. This is one of the most important conferences on Biomedical Optics.
The presentation was entitled “Photoacoustic Imaging of Breast Tumor Vascularization: A Comparison with MRI and Histopathology”, and is ongoing research between the University of Twente and Medisch Spectrum Twente.
This is the 3rd of Michelle’s major prizes, having already won the 2nd place at the BIOS conference in San Francisco in 2012, and a 1st place at the congress of the Dutch Society for Technical Medicine in 2011.
