Welcome Frank Somhorst

Home sweet home! After his 6-month internship abroad at Harvard University, Frank Somhorst returned to the University of Twente. This internship resulted in successfully completing his master's degree in Applied Physics, specializing in adaptive quantum optics, which he proudly obtained cum laude.

Frank is no stranger to the AQO group, as he completed his MSc thesis project on quantum photo-thermodynamics within AQO earlier in 2021. This project turned out to be very fruitful, resulting in a paper entitled “Quantum photo-thermodynamics on a programmable photonic quantum processor”.

These first steps in research tasted like more.  As of February 1, Frank started his PhD research at AQO. He is very excited to see what lies ahead!
