The birth of a child and becoming a parent is an impactful life event. The UT aims to provide its employees with the opportunity to bond with their newborn child. As of now, every UT employee is entitled to a maximum of 6 weeks of paid leave upon expanding their family. Due to current laws and regulations, birth leave arrangements were not suitable or fair for all family compositions. From the perspective of diversity, equity, and inclusion, these policies have been adjusted. Thanks to a new scheme, every UT employee now has entitlement to just as much leave for the birth of their child, regardless of their family composition.

The policy of equal birth leave for all families will be incorporated into the existing leave policy. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please get in touch with the HR department of your faculty or service.
