Keynote: Innovation in Medical Robotics
Cyrill von Tiesenhausen - Business Development Manager at KUKA Deutschland GmbH
Presentation: The presentation will give an overview over current developments in Medical robotics in multiple application fields. We will see a broad range where robotics can be used already today, from diagnosis to radiation therapy, surgery, interventional procedures to rehabilitation and logistics. There will also be an outlook on what is the current focus in research institutes around the world that are developing new ideas using robotic devices.

He joined KUKA in 2011, in this time, he focused on robotic solutions in the medical field, especially for interventional and surgical procedures. This growing market consists of large companies that already have medical products as well as startups and universities. Together with these companies, he develops solutions that push the boundaries of medical applications with robotic technology. Cyrill received a PhD (Dr.-Ing.) from the Technical University Berlin on his research in navigation systems for maxillofacial surgery. Before working for KUKA, he was Product Manager for a software company that develops client-server solutions for radiologic data visualization.

Pitch your organization
We end this plenary session with pitches given by the participants themselves. 15 SME's stand up one by one and present themselves. Who are they, for which organization do they work, what can the company offer others and what are they looking for themselve? The pitchers will present this to all participants in just 2 minutes.
- 11.00 - 16.30: Open programme (domain presentations, Matchmaking sessions)
A lunch will be served around the the Innovation Hub Experience Expo. The sharing disposable lunch is easy to eat and you can take this with you during the first sessions of the Innovation Hub presentations or when you're walking on the Experience Expo. For 90 minutes you have the possibilty to get you lunch. Fruit water is available at all times.
Innovation Hub Experience Expo
The exhibition fair will take place during day 1 (2 – 5 pm) and day 2 (11 am – 4.30 pm). This will be the central location of the event. From here, participants can move to the open program with presentations and guided tours.
During the fair all 16 Innovation hubs can present their own hub and give their associate partner some space to use this as well. How can the SME’s benefit from the Innovation hubs and in which domain of robotics is the hub active? The goal is to connect the robotics network and the european end-users, which lead to cross-border relationships.
In addition to the 16 stands, TERRINet has a stand and SME's has the opportunity for a pre-scan of their proposal ideas to the DIH-HERO organization and get valuable feedback.
Speed dates & Matchmaking sessions
Between the whole afternoon participants can arrange matchmaking sessions with other participants and/or with Innovation hubs an/or with the associate partners. In one big room there are spots created to come together 1 by 1, 2 by 2 or more persons. These meetings can be arranged on site during the event, or even before hand via the Network app (available for ios and android).
Need help? Come to the Innovation coaches and they can help you finding the person or organization who you are looking for.
Starting a session? Take a seat on an available spot, indicate the required time and meet!
5 Domain sessions:
In the afternoon, participants can also visit one or more Robotics presentations. During these presentation (60 minutes in total) an expert will talk about his expertise within one of these domains. After the 20-30 minutes talk a moderator will lead a discussion with all participants. Questions can be asked, future ideas discussed, and more.. Open your mind during these specific presentations!
Every domain presentation starts every 30 minutes after each other in 2 different rooms (if you only want to listen to the talk you can leave the room). Somethis there is an overlap of talks.
