Biography

Dr. Serge Autexier
GERMAN RESEARCH CENTER FOR ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE - Head of Bremen Ambient Assisted Living Lab

Serge Autexier studied and received his doctorate (2003) in computer science with a focus on AI. Since 2002 he is a researcher at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). His research areas are formal methods, cyber-physical systems, human-environment/-robot interaction, and active and healthy living. Since 2014 he is head of the Bremen Ambient Assisted Living Lab and DFKI Research Fellow since 2017. He is currently PI of five national projects and one EU project and co-PI in three more projects. Past and ongoing care-/health-related projects are ModESt (Walker-module for posture- recognition and fall-prevention, 2017–2019), KI-SIGS (,AI-Space for Intelligent Health-Systems, 2020-2023), AdaMekoR (An adaptive multi-component robot system for use in nursing, 2020-2023), and the H2020 projects CrowdHEALTH (Collective wisdom driving public health policies, 2017-2020) and ASCAPE (“Artificial intelligence Supporting CAncer Patients across Europe”).
