The environment has an important role to play in work at the UT. This often involves work in the laboratories, but also concerns energy used to cool, heat and illuminate our offices. On top of that, the procurement, usage and disposal of various goods also have an impact. For instance, the UT has waste disposal regulations for industrial and hazardous waste. In addition to more obvious topics, such as carbon emissions and soil and air pollution, noise pollution is also an important environmental issue. That is why the UT has drawn up a protocol for parties and activities on campus, so that everyone knows which standards they must meet.
The UT has been granted and environmental permit by the municipality of Enschede, which specifies the regulations that the UT must comply with. For an overview, please contact Brechje Maréchal.
