We are living in a time of rapid and mutually reinforcing changes. Some of these changes are very unexpected, others gradual. How can cities better prepare for this, how do we increase urban resilience and adaptability? A future-proof Rotterdam requires foresight and anticipation.

Therefore, the Municipality of Rotterdam is developing Future InSight with the aim of enhancing the city's anticipatory capacity by integrating insights about the future – opportunities, risks, and uncertainties – from various sources and perspectives. This enables us to collectively interpret what it means for the city and form coalitions to take action.
