Embrace the Spectrum - Tai Chi Session 13th May 2025

The current way of living (and studying) in Western societies asks a lot of our minds and bodies. We process more information per minute than we ever did before and we are constantly under pressure to achieve and meet deadlines and targets. In doing so, we put higher demands on our own energy supplies, have to deal with more distractions and have difficulties in finding and keeping the right balance in our daily activities.

As a result the body tenses up as it is getting dragged along in the busy program our mind is on. This can alienate our body from our mind; body and mind are drifting apart resulting into symptoms like tension, fatigue, restlessness. And if this prolongs, it may result into illness.

Tai Chi is an ancient martial arts from China that has developed over 100s of years into a form to improve both physical and mental health. It brings back the mind to focus on the body and the body gets an opportunity to speak its own language and to do the movements that help to restore balance between body and mind. The result can be a quieter mind and improved concentration and physical health.

In this Tai Chi session we will take a journey through our body. The session consists of warming up exercises, lower Dantien (breathing) exercises and finally, Tai Chi walking and/or Tai Chi standing exercises.

It will take place on Tuesday 13th of May from 17.00 – 18.30 in VR 208

Space is limited, sign up now!
