Lecture-recital: Inspiration and Music Interpretation
In classical music, composers are very precise in their writing of music. Not only notes, but also the tempo, dynamics, and different kinds of sound quality is written down in the score. Performing musicians are supposed to follow these instructions, to respect the meanings of a composer and his music.
But is that truly possible? How much room does that leave a performer for his own interpretation? And what’s the need and meaning of inspiration for him?
During a lecture-recital on November 23rd, award-winning pianist and music theatre actor Christiaan Kuyvenhoven will share his thoughts about inspiration and music inspiration with you. He will perform several pieces by Haydn, Beethoven and Chopin.
