Education and training
The NanoLab cleanroom contributes to several educational programmes at the University of Twente. Under the supervision of NanoLab staff, students gain hands-on experience in nanofabrication and semiconductor device fabrication through practical courses. These courses are currently offered within the BSc Electrical Engineering and MSc Nanotechnology programmes.
The NanoLab is used not only for cutting-edge research but also for educating the next generation of nanotechnology researchers and engineers. Through practical courses and research projects, students learn how nanoscale materials, structures and devices are fabricated, characterised and analysed using state-of-the-art facilities.

CLEANROOM TRAINING PROGRAMme
In order to use the cleanroom facilities, users are required to complete the Cleanroom Training Programme (CTP). The programme consists of theoretical and practical modules covering the principles of cleanroom work, safety procedures and cleanroom protocols.
After successfully completing the CTP, users receive authorisation to enter the cleanroom. Subsequently, the NanoLab staff provides equipment-specific training, enabling researchers and industrial users to operate the systems independently.
