Summary

The main research objective is to enhance the understanding of turbidity dynamics and its effects on Lake Naivasha ecosystem. This will be achieved by investigating spatial-temporal variability of turbidity in Lake Naivasha. Identifying the main drivers and mechanisms that Influence the turbidity dynamics in Lake Naivasha will also be undertaken. In addition, investigation of the shift from clear to turbid state in Lake Naivasha will be carried out and finally changes in fish population (in terms of annual fish catches, catch per unit effort (CPUE), length, sex and species) in relation to turbidity changes in Lake Naivasha will be quantified.
