End-of-year message from the Faculty Board

At the last editions of the ET Christmas Event, we were enjoying our traditional buffet together. Unfortunately, that’s currently not possible, but we are glad that we’re still able to catch up online.

The year 2020 will go down in history as the year in which the Faculty ET reinvented itself. It was a year of unprecedented change. Our education went digital, we had an excellent research assessment and we are on the way to a new ET strategy together with the departments. A year with highlights but unfortunately also moments of grief. Fred van Houten, Guilherme Phillips Furtado and Yanick Verkerk will be truly missed.

2020 has been a year of change. The former dean, Geert Dewulf, stepped back and I became his successor. Ton van den Boogaard and Mariska Giesen also joined and hopefully this February we will be complete again as a Faculty Board. There are also a lot of new faces at other faculty positions; welcome to you all! We are confident that together we will add energy to the organization.

We would like to thank you for all your (extra) efforts this year and we trust that you will recharge your batteries a bit and that you all will enjoy the festive season.

For now enjoy this ET end-of-year film full of future wishes with a glowing element.

See you in 2021!

Best wishes,
Faculty Board ET
