The eigth edition of the MARID conference (Marine and River Dunes) will be held at the Grolsch Veste in Enschede, the Netherlands. The short course will be at the campus of the University of Twente.
Grolsch Veste
The Grolsch Veste is located between Enschede and Hengelo. Less than a minute's walk away is the railway station Enschede Kennispark, where trains depart to Hengelo and Enschede. The adress of the conference venue is Coloseum 65 in Enschede.
Campus university OF Twente
The campus of the University of Twente is a 20 minutes walk (about 1.5 km) away from the conference venue. The campus can be reached from Enschede and Hengelo by bus line 9, busstop Westerbegraafplaats/UT or Kennispark/UT.
Getting there
You can get to Enschede by many means of transport. More information can be found here.
The Sunday before the Conference (April 12th) happens to coincide with the Enschede Marathon. The marathon will interfere with the bus lines connecting the city centre with the University (where you may be staying, and where the Masterclasses will take place).
Therefore, we suggest you consider the marathon program when planning your arrival and/or stay in Enschede.

Note that the University and the city centre will still be connected via train (station Enschede Kennispark) + 15 minute walk.

Several hotels in Enschede and Hengelo offer accommodation. We have arranged special rates with U Parkhotel and Hotel De Broeierd, both conveniently located near the venue.

- A deluxe comfort room with balcony or terrace can be booked with a surcharge of €20.00 per night.

Other options would be the InterCity Hotel in Enschede. For those who travel with a smaller budget, the Little Monkey Hostel in Enschede might be an option.
