The Engineering Doctorate (EngD) programmes at the University of Twente offer a two-year post-master design education, where academics, professionals and companies work together on innovative technological solutions. The EngD programmes combine scientific research with practice-oriented design solutions and are now also organised in such a way that they can be followed flexibly alongside a job. This means that participants can remain employed by their employer and complete the programme at an adjusted pace.
The EngD programmes of the ET faculty are:
- Civil Engineering: Innovative infrastructure solutions and sustainable construction methods, such as water management and smart cities.
- Energy & Process Technology: Sustainable energy solutions and efficient industrial processes, such as renewable energy and emission reduction.
- Maintenance: Optimization of maintenance processes with techniques such as predictive maintenance and AI-driven monitoring.
- Robotics: Development of advanced robotics solutions for industry and healthcare, including autonomous systems and AI integration.
So, if you already are working in industry and looking to further develop your expertise? Consider applying for an EngD position by creating your own project proposal in collaboration with your employer and the University of Twente. Together, you'll design a tailored program—combining advanced courses and expert coaching—focused on delivering the best possible solution to a real challenge within your company.
