ASPIRE

ASPIRE: Adaptive SportsHCI for Personalised Integration of SubjectiveExperience Indicators with Performance Data

ASPIRE aims to systematically integrate subjective sporting experience indicators with objective performance metrics through an advanced computational framework. We develop machine learning models and interactive systems that capture subjective experiences alongside real-time physiological and biomechanical data, dynamically adjusting feedback based on athletes’ individual contexts and states.

In this project, our approach uniquely moves beyond standard quantification of performance by placing equal emphasis on athletes' psychological and subjective experiences. This human-centered integration will enable delivering context-aware, personalised feedback, empower athletes to make more informed and autonomous training decisions, thereby enhancing their performance, motivation, and long-term well-being.

Within the project, the IxD group focuses on development of comprehensive guidelines and design principles for building effective, inclusive, and adaptive human-computer interaction frameworks in sports and other domains.
