There are knowledge gaps with respect to potential social and spatial equity implications of decarbonisation of transportation. This thesis aims to identify potential (individual) trade-offs of decarbonisation strategies for daily person mobility and to identify the potential consequences of the effects of these strategies for social and spatial equity. With individual trade-offs is meant the considerations of individuals to adapt to other travel behaviour or adopt (more) sustainable transport modes. With equity is meant the distributional effects of policy measures given moral distributive principles. In this thesis, we adopt the 'avoid-shift-improve' (ASI) classification of decarbonisation strategies.
