On 31 May 2017, Muhammad Shoaib successfully defended his doctoral thesis entitled "Sitting is the new smoking: online complex human activity recognition with smartphones and wearables”. The research has been performed under supervision of Prof. Paul Havinga (promotor) and ir. Hans Scholten(assistant-promotor).
