biography

Niek Moonen is a Researcher in EMC at the University of Twente, received his B.Sc in 2012, M.Sc. in 2014 and his PhD (Cum Laude) in 2019, in advanced technology, electrical engineering and electromagnetic compatibility respectively. He is member of IEEE EMC society Technical Committee 7 – Low Frequency EMC and board member of the Dutch EMC-ESD association. He was granted the 2019 Distinguished Reviewer award from the IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility. His research interests include EMI mitigation in power electronics with special interest in EMI propagation in Smart Grids, digital signal processing in EMC measurements, and EMI filter optimization. He will support Prof. F. Leferink in the daily supervision of PhD candidates, with a focus on EMI originating from fast switching semi-conductors used in power electronic equipment.
