biography

Rutger Kersjes was born in Vollenhove on May 25th, 1998. He received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 2021 at the University of Twente. During the bachelor, he worked on the electrical systems in a hydrogen electric vehicle at Green Team Twente for a year. He remained at the UT to finish his master's degree in 2023, with a specialization in power electronics and EMC. During his internship and thesis project, he worked on the energy storage and distribution systems for hydrogen fuel cell electric systems in aviation.

In October 2023, Rutger started as a PhD candidate at the Power Electronics and Electromagnetic Compatibility (PE) of the University of Twente. His research considers smart energy systems, with an interest in modeling, optimization and HIL-based applications.
