Applied Quantum Computing Masterclass starts in february 2023 Learn all the ins and outs of quantum computing

A NEW MASTER CLASS ON APPLIED QUANTUM COMPUTING WILL START IN FEBRUARY 2023. IN THIS 20-WEEK MASTER CLASS, YOU WILL LEARN EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT QUANTUM COMPUTING.

It gives you energy and is refreshing, truly inspiring! This is how one of the participants experiences the masterclass Applied Quantum Computing. The IT professional, as she describes herself, talks enthusiastically about her participation in the masterclass: 'In terms of content, the field of Quantum Computing is particularly interesting and topical, but from my day-to-day work in IT I hadn't had any direct contact with it. Now I can actually use it. Furthermore, taking the course took me out of my own context and thinking patterns, something I found very refreshing. The course was just really cool to do!'

Quantum computing has not been a niche market for a long time. And the sooner we realise that, the better. Because when Quantum Computing reaches its full potential, (online) security is at risk. This urgency gives the course even more added value, she said. According to Adil Acun, lecturer of the Quantum Computing masterclass, this is not the only thing. Because besides the focus on future technologies and their threat to online security, he says, there is also an opportunity at the operational level. 'By gaining knowledge and experience with Quantum Computing, you can, for example, design various operational processes faster and more accurately or give the digitalisation within your company an extra push'.

During the masterclass, you learn to develop your own level of judgement. You work on your intellectual self-assurance and learn to identify opportunities and challenges on your own. You learn all you need to know about Quantum Computing at a reasonably fast pace, in order to be able to give sound advice.

Why is the masterclass Quantum Computing interesting at the University of Twente? According to Adil, especially the mentality in Twente is very distinctive: 'less talk, more action'. Not only the university, but also the Twente region is full of Quantum specialisms. In addition, on campus you are surrounded by real professionals in the most positive sense of the word, he says, allowing you to immerse yourself in the field and the learning environment.

Upon completion of the masterclass, participants receive an Edubadge/Microcredential, a digital certificate that demonstrates acquired knowledge and skills through accreditation-worthy education. Certificates like these allow you to add an extra dimension to your CV. The microcredentials obtained show where your personal interests lie and what objective knowledge and skills you possess in that field, without having to compulsorily complete a full curriculum. A wonderful opportunity for people who want to study in combination with a job, says the course participant.
